GEORGE ROGERS
1899–1976
A keen angler and member of many associations – joined the North Western Fisheries Association in 1953, was Ulverstone Club President 1959–1982, North Western Fisheries Association President in 1962 and 1979, and its Vice President in 1978. Inaugural member of Freshwater Anglers Council of Tasmania in 1981. He served as Association Member on Four Springs Development 1974–1996, and was a founding member of the Tasmanian Trout Fishing Championship. A member of North Motton rearing unit he introduced fingerling trout into many northern waters. Awarded Life Membership of North Western Fisheries Association in 1979.
