Little Pine Bridge Repairs

IFS have completed repairs to the footbridge over the Little Pine River upstream of the Little Pine Lagoon. The work was funded by Anglers Alliance Tas

The bridge was very close to being lost - it was partially collapsed on the eastern end and as a result partially submerged, increasing the water pressure from the considerable flow in the river.

One more rain or snow event and the bridge would have collapsed.

The team has fitted four new Duragal support posts and steel cross-bearers at both the eastern and western abutments, repaired the handrail, repositioned the steps on both sides and replaced the timber centre cross bearer with a steel one.

The bridge should now be serviceable for the foreseeable future.
