RONALD MUNRO STEPHENSON
1915–1995
Initiated development of Four Springs Fishery in 1974. Was involved with establishment of Inland Fisheries Commission Field Station at Liawenee, and sourced funding from both Federal and State Governments to help this and other projects in recreational fishery. In 1975 he was awarded Life Membership of the Northern Tasmanian Fisheries Association. He was President of the Freshwater Fisherman’s Assembly, the first Tasmanian to be elected to this position. He was involved with Western Lakes management and assisted in physical works including bridges and dams. He contributed considerable monies from his own resources to assist in recreational fishery improvements.
